As you guessed, this is where I will answer frequently asked questions. This may save you the time of sending me a message and waiting for an answer. Of course, if you don't see an answer to your question, don't hesitate to contact me.
What is chain mail?
Chain mail started off as is a series of interlinked rings of metal forming a flexible piece of armor, worn by knights and soldiers in medieval times. Today, this still rings true for many renaissance reinactment groups and LARP (Live Action Role Playing) groups, but it can also woven into different patterns and designs for use as jewelry.
What types of materials do you use for your chain mail?
My jewelry is made out of brass, bronze, copper, steel, sterling silver, titanium, and even gold, all of which have their own unique beauty when paired with the perfect outfit. When adding accents to my jewelry, I use semi-precious stones and Swarovski crystals, which tend to look better than glass or plastic beads.
Why do you charge a flat charge for shipping?
$5.00 covers shipping, handling, and PayPal fees in most cases, and in cases where shipping is more, I eat the difference. The $2.50 for additional pieces covers shipping weight. I will put all items in the same package when I ship them, which eliminates additional packing fees. A flat fee also eliminates confusion when it comes to multiple item shipping and location to ship to. How do you ship orders? I ship everything US Postal Service. UPS and FedEx will leave packages on doorsteps, which I find unsafe for the package. In some cases (like apartments) they might require a signature, which may result in delayed delivery times. I have also heard it is complicated to receive UPS and FedEx packages if you live in college dorms, or use a PO Box. USPS delivers to a mail box, which is more secure, and doesn't cause problems at college dorms. |
